Begin your child’s adventures in music.
Piano Lessons in Nibley.
Games, Themes, Incentives
I use a variety of method books, and I strive to choose a method that matches your student’s learning style and interests. I incorporate games and themes to add variety and enhance the learning experience. Students are rewarded for working hard (practicing, flashcards, being on time, etc.). They really love this.
Music and Supplies
All music and supplies are provided. This saves you trips to the store, and I have music on hand for when it’s needed. Students like this because they can help choose their music, especially their recital and repertoire pieces.
Recitals
Sharing their progress builds student’s confidence and self-esteem. I generally have recitals in the Spring and before Christmas. Student’s are expected to participate whenever possible.
Expectations
Lessons are once a week for 30 minutes. Parents are always welcome; however, most students do better on their own. Students are expected to practice for 25 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week. They also need to practice their flashcards and do writing assignments for another 5-10 minutes per day.
How can I help my child succeed?
You can help your child find a time each day to practice. Encourage them and help practicing be a positive experience. Younger children will need more help getting through their material, finding the correct songs to practice, helping them understand their writing assignments, and quizzing them on their flashcards. As they get older, check-in with them by listening to them practice. Always encourage and praise them, and be sure to sign their practice log before each lesson.
